Sharon Raminfard received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2008 and her Juris Doctorate from UCLA School of Law in 2011. She was admitted to the California Bar in December 2011 and the Central District of California in 2012.
Experience
At Novian & Novian, LLP, Sharon actively and passionately supports the firm’s vibrant commercial and business litigation department. She has successfully litigated numerous cases involving trade secret misappropriation, business torts, partnership, manufacturing, real estate, trademark and copyright disputes. During her practice, she has represented clients ranging from small start-up businesses to large multinational corporations in the apparel, cosmetics, electronics, textile, restaurant, hospitality, and other industries.
In connection with her work with clients in such brand-intensive industries, Sharon leads the firm’s Trademark Department. She manages the firm’s large and growing portfolio of trademark clients by advising on the clearance and selection of marks as well as strategically strengthening, extensively protecting, and aggressively enforcing the clients’ intellectual property rights. Sharon also works closely with the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) and Trademark Trial & Appeal Board (TTAB) to acquire and maintain federal trademark registrations for businesses across the nation, as well as with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) to do the same across the globe. In addition, Sharon is actively involved in the firm’s Copyright Department. She routinely files copyright applications with the United States Copyright Office and pursues copyright litigation matters for her clients in the textile, apparel, art and other design focused industries. In connection with her trademark and copyright work, she is also experienced in intellectual property licensing and assignments as well as advising clients on advertising and privacy issues.
