Mr. Kingston received his B.S. in Public Policy, Management, and Planning, magna cum laude, from the Univ. of Southern California in 2003. He received his J.D. from the Univ. of California, Los Angeles School of Law in 2010, where he was Managing Editor for the Chicano(a)/Latino(a) Law Review and Associate Editor for the Journal of Environmental Law and Policy and obtained clinical experience in civil trial advocacy and business deal negotiation.
Prior to law school, Mr. Kingston spent four years heading the United States Coast Guard's Cost and Performance Management Program, developing and implementing management policies agency-wide throughout the United States. Mr. Kingston also spent several years as a Growth Coordinator for the United States Postal Service, drafting and managing contracts between the City of Irvine, the United States Postal Service, and various Developers. Prior to joining Novian, Mr. Kingston served as an extern at the California Court of Appeals and interned at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, where he produced draft decisions and court and agency opinions. At Novian, Mr. Kingston engages primarily in general business and corporate litigation, including labor, employment, contract, land use, and construction matters, while also specializing on the strategic drafting of employee handbooks for among others, medical clinics, apparel companies, hotels and restaurants. Mr. Kingston has also successfully litigated numerous corporate-shareholder, commercial litigation, breach of contract and insurance bad faith and tort lawsuits. Mr. Kingston has also successfully mediated wage & hour, defamation and breach of contract disputes. When he is not focused on the practice of law, Mr. Kingston enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, and is especially fond of outdoor activities and travel. |
