For over 23 years, Farhad Novian, the Managing Partner of Novian & Novian LLP, has advised, counseled and represented California businesses in a broad range of commercial and business disputes. These matters have been resolved in federal and state courts, upon jury verdicts, at arbitration, at mediation or informally. In so doing, Farhad has established a highly capable corporate and litigation and transactional practice. He has selected and leads a highly experienced and efficient team of litigators and transactional attorneys.

Mr. Novian's business counseling and legal representation has successfully resolved disputes and issues on breach of contract, license, partnership, trade secret misappropriation, real estate, wrongful termination, business fraud, entertainment law, libel, trademark and copyright infringement and right of publicity violations. Mr. Novian also has garnered success in representing numerous privately held and publicly traded companies in the corporate, entertainment and hospitality fields from start-up to counseling the companies on operational, corporate and licensing matters.  Mr. Novian also specializes in right of publicity cases and represents TV celebrities, models and professional athletes in such cases related contract and related litigation matters where he has taken cases to verdict, including the award of punitive damages.

Recently, Mr. Novian successfully reversed a $2,000,000 judgment against an Indian Tribe after oral argument before the Court Of Appeal, San Diego County and has successfully argued other appeals in the past including matters involving free speech and defamation matters involving Double Day Publishing and the Band NWA, among others.

Mr. Novian, successfully obtained judgments and awards including a judgment for specific performance on real estate matters and multi-million dollar awards involving licensing matters.

Through his team of litigation attorneys, Mr. Novian  has also obtained injunctive relief against various restaurant chains, apparel manufacturers and software manufacturers.

Mr. Novian received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1981, earning a B.A. in Economics and Political Science. He received his J. D. degree from Loyola Law School in 1984. In 1988, along with his brother, Farid Novian, he founded Novian & Novian.

Mr. Novian is active in state and federal bar associations and regularly lectures on real estate and hospitality legal and operational issues at University of California, Los Angeles. He is admitted to the State Bar of California and is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He is married with two young sons and enjoys playing tennis during his off hours and is an avid art enthusiast.
